The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) has announced the first meeting of the Advisory Council on Parkinson’s Research, Care, and Services (ACPRCS), a new group established as part of the National Plan to End Parkinson’s Disease.
The public meeting will be held on June 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The council was created to provide advice and recommendations on Parkinson’s disease research, patient care, support services, and federal programs that affect people living with Parkinson’s disease and their families.
According to NINDS, the meeting agenda will include updates on the National Plan to End Parkinson’s, presentations from experts, and discussions about research priorities, healthcare access, and support services for the Parkinson’s community. Members of the public will also have an opportunity to observe the proceedings.
The inaugural meeting represents one of the first major steps in implementing the National Plan to End Parkinson’s Disease since its passage. The council’s recommendations could help guide future federal efforts aimed at improving care, advancing research, and addressing the growing impact of Parkinson’s disease across the United States.
